Single fluke anchor is similar to a naval anchor. There is only one fluke, but it is larger in size. This type of anchor has a larger fluke force than admiralty anchor.It could be used as positioning anchors for various working vessels and dredgers to make sure the vessel does not move during dredging operations. Has a large anchor ring with a D shackle and swivel. This pattern of anchor is still used for permanent moorings, as there is no upward pointing fluke for a vessel at anchor to sit on with a falling tide. Frequently used in association with ship mooring buoys.
