How to use the shackle correctly

1. The shackle must be forged, and cast and patched shackle must not be used.

2. Before use, check whether the shackle type matches the sling and shall not exceed the rated load.

3. It is forbidden to use bolts or metal rods instead of pins.

4. Large impact and collision are not allowed during the lifting process.

5. The pin should be rotated flexibly in the pin hole, and no blocking is allowed.

6. The Angle between the two slings in the bow shackle shall not be greater than 120°, as shown in Figure 1.

7. The sling force should be directly against the center line of the shackle, as shown in Figure 2.

8. Eccentric load is prohibited for shackles, as shown in Figure 3.

9. When the shackle is used with the sling, the cross pin of the shackle should be connected with the sling. Avoid the friction between the steel wire rope and the shackle when the rigging is lifted, which will cause the pin to rotate and cause the cross pin to be separated from the buckle body, as shown in Figure 4.

10. The shackle shall not be thrown down from the height to prevent the landing of the shackle collision deformation, or internal damage and cracks.
